Coronavirus: Doctors Warn Hospitals Not Ready

Doctors at US hospitals warn the coming surge of Coronavirus patients could overwhelm US hospitals as seen in Northern Italy during the coronavirus outbreak. As the US death toll rises to over 100 and US cases soar past 6000, doctors are bracing themselves for the crisis to worsen in the coming days.

US cities have been shutting down over the past week with businesses closing or converting to work from home only. Many are wondering if these measures will be enough to contain the spread and prevent the US situation from becoming similar to Italy where hospitals do not have enough beds.

Doctors urge the public to practice social distancing immediately and stay home as much as possible. By avoiding contact with others and staying home as much as possible, opportunities to spread the virus are greatly reduced.

Slowing the tranmission of the virus will prevent health care systems from being overwhelmed during this crisis while medical equipment manufacturers ramp up production of vital masks, gloves, ventilators, and other medical equipment.
